An interesting analysis done by economist Mark Perry concludes:
Since 1982, women have earned 13 million more college degrees than men.
Let’s drill down on those numbers…

According to Perry:
Women currently earn over 60% of all associate’s degrees.
=============
In 1982, women became the majority gender for bachelor’s degrees for the first time.
Today women are granted 35% more bachelor’s degrees than men … and women now account for 57.4% of bachelor’s degrees granted. for every 100 men who do.

Starting in 1987, women became the permanent majority gender for master’s degrees.
Today, women are granted 40% more master’s degrees than men … and women now account for 58.4% of master’s degrees granted.

Women currently earn 11.4% more doctoral degrees than men.

Putting it all together, for all levels (associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s and doctor’s degrees) …
On a cumulative basis, since 1982, women have earned 13 million more college degrees than men.
