I’ve got an alternative scenario for you.

DNC operatives are trying to shift the conversation from the substance of the purloined DNC emails … to the hackers … blaming the Russians for being pro-Trump and releasing the emails to spoil Hillary’s campaign.
There’s hand-wringing and outrage that the Russians might be trying to impact a U.S. election.
Even President Obama has weighed in.

I’ve got an alternative deduced scenario for you. Let’s connect some dots on this one …

1) The Israelis are known to have a very sophisticated intelligence capability … including cyber-intelligence.
To that point, the Israelis claim that “we are ahead of the rest of the world in digital capabilities by at least 15 years.”
Tech note:
Cyber sleuths claim to have found left-behind code written in Cyrillic.
Why would sophisticated hackers make such an egregious mistake?
Even if true, what would keep sophisticated cyber-agents from planting a few Cyrillic seeds to implicate the Russians?

2) The Obama Administration tried hard to influence the Israeli election — implicitly and directly.
As CNN reported:
Former State Department official Aaron David Miller said the Obama administration is now sending “certain unmistakable signals” that Netanyahu isn’t the right prime minister to manage the U.S.-Israel relationship.
“We clearly had our favorites and we wanted Peres to win,” Miller recounted.
“[The idea] that we don’t intercede in Israeli politics is as foolish an assumption as that they don’t interfere in ours,” Miller said.
And, as The Hill reported:
President Obama’s role during the Israeli elections was larger than reported, according to a pollster for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party.
“What was not well reported in the American media is that President Obama and his allies were playing in the election to defeat Prime Minister Netanyahu.”
“There was money moving that included taxpayer U.S. dollars, through non-profit organizations.
And there were various liberal groups in the United States that were raising millions to fund a campaign called V15 against Prime Minister Netanyahu.”
V15 was viewed as part of a broader campaign to oust Netanyahu.
The group was linked to Washington-based nonprofit OneVoice Movement, which reportedly received $350,000 in State Department grants.
Of course, Netanyahu won the election.
As the original Grandma Homa used to say “If you’re gonna shoot, make damn sure that you don’t miss.”

3) Perhaps the most damning of the released DNC emails was one that raised the question of Bernie Sanders’ Jewish faith.
According to Politico:
A top staffer at the Democratic National Committee has apologized after suggesting that the organization use Bernie Sanders’ religious beliefs against him in the Democratic primary.
Oops.
That’s a no-no.

I have absolutely no idea who hacked the DNC email system and released the emails, but I do love conspiracy theories.
A case could be made that the Israelis have (1) the means – sophisticated cyber-intelligence capability (2) a motive – you know, that old eye-for-an-eye thing since we meddled in their election and (3) opportunity – since the DNC had lax security and took a shot a Bernie’s religion.
Of course, the Jewish voting bloc is critical to the Dems – especially in swing-state Florida – so it would be risky for the Dems to start blaming the Israelis.
But, nobody likes the Russians, right?
So pin it on them … nothing to lose … and, might somehow tar Trump.
Now, that would make some lemonade out of those lemons.
