Déjà vu all over again?

Florida’s tax migrants may not be out of the woods yet … but they may be holding an ironic high card.

OK, let’s recap the the bidding…

On election day, FL Gov. Rick Scott (R) edged incumbent Senator Bill Nelson (D) by a razor thin margin.

Similarly, Congressman Ron DeSantis edged Socialist-Democrat Andrew Gillum for the Florida Governorship.

Gillum conceded the race to DeSantis.

Looked like Florida was safe as a tax sanctuary … at least for another 4 years.

Then the worm turned.

Let’s walk thru that … and, a predictable end-game that I haven’t heard from the pundits yet.

Scott’s lead dwindled into automatic recount territory … and Gillum un-conceded.

Heading for  replay of the Bush-Gore recount, right?

Already, Dems are reported to have found  “boxes” of votes that weren’t counted.

A teacher in Florida found a container labeled “Provisional Ballot Box” in a storage area of her elementary school on Thursday.

Lakeisha Williams, of Broward County, said she discovered the ballot box two days after Election Day at Miramar Elementary School — where it was apparently left behind by election workers.

May be legit, but sure sounds like Chicago-south, doesn’t it?

Predictably, the GOP is already claiming “foul” and candidate Scott – who  is also sitting Governor Scott – has ordered law enforcement investigations of alleged incidents of vote fraud.

Also predictably, Dems have started shouting voter suppression since many of the uncounted ballots are “provisional ballots” that were put aside because of registration irregularities.

Starting to sound familiar?

Some predictions

This situation is going to get messier and meaner … fast.

There won’t be a clear winner.

If the Dems lose by a few vote, they’ll claim voter suppression.

If the GOP loses by a few votes, they’ll claim vote fraud.

Either way, the recount results will be bumped up to the Supreme Court for an emergency ruling.

As usual, the Supremes will rule along party lines.

That means that Justice Kavanaugh may cast the deciding vote.

Think about that for a moment.

“Boxes of votes?” It’s 2018 and this is the United States of America. How embarrassing for all of us that our system is so technically crude and vulnerable to fraud..and yet maybe that’s exactly how politicians want to keep it.
