Some evidence says it is … by far in some situations.
=============
According to Prof. Walter E. Williams writing about Proportional Disparities…
Men are roughly half of the population, right?
But, sharks are nine times likelier to attack and kill men than they are women.
Men are struck by lightning six times as often as women.
And, 82% of people killed by lightning are men.
Why is that?
=============
Here are a couple of possible explanations:
Maybe guys have some hormonal scents that attract sharks … but, male smells shouldn’t attract lightning.
Or, maybe guys are just dumber and put themselves in riskier situations, e.g. swimming when there are warnings posted or standing under a golf course tree in a thunderstorm.
Or, it may just be an unlucky quirk of nature.
Hmmm.
