Given Biden’s declining poll numbers — Covid chaos, high inflation, energy dependence, Afghan meltdown, southern border mess — I thought it was time for a flashback.
A warning that all of this would happen … from no less than Barack Obama…

Last year,, hard-left Politico ran an article sub-titled “What Obama really thinks about Biden”.
I expected it to be typical Biden puff piece.
Suffice it to say that I was surprised.
In Obama-speak, the former President “took Joe to the hoop”…

Some specifics…
Eccentric behavior:
The president and vice president enjoyed a genuinely close personal relationship, built particularly around devotion to family., while at the same time many senior aides, sometimes tacitly encouraged by the president’s behavior, dismissed Biden as eccentric.
Biden’s tendency to blurt out whatever was on his mind rankled Obama.
Joe’s not a “binder person”.
White House aides would chortle at how Biden, like an elderly uncle at Thanksgiving, would launch into extended monologues that everyone had heard before.
The Hillary comparison:
“I’m a big admirer of Hillary Clinton,” Obama often enthused.
“You know, her discipline, her stamina, her thoughtfulness, her ability to project and make clear issues that are important to the American people.”
“Biden makes Hillary look so much better.”
Biden’s academic record:
Biden’s academic career was unimpressive.
He had to repeat the third grade.
Biden earned all Cs and Ds in his first three semesters at the University of Delaware except for As in P.E., a B in “Great English Writers” and an F in ROTC.
He graduated 76th in his Syracuse Law School class of 85 students.
“I’m not a lightweight”
Biden has long been defensive about suggestions of being dumb or a lightweight.
Striving to answer his critics, he puffs up his academic credentials on the trail.
Biden’s explanation: “I exaggerate when I’m angry.”
“Joe Biden has balls. Lot of times, more balls than sense.”
Obama’s endorsement of Biden:
I believe Joe has all of the qualities we need in a president right now … and I know he will surround himself with good people.”
The coup de grace:
One Democrat who spoke to Obama recalled the former president warning:
“Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to fuck things up.”
Biden’s view: “Heartless technocrats”
“Biden doesn’t come from the wonky angle of leadership,” said a senior Obama administration official.
Biden decries the snobby intelligentsia that had taken over the Democratic Party.
“It seems to me they’ve all become heartless technocrats.”
As one former Biden official put it:
“I don’t think he really cares about what a 30-something Save America podcast host thinks about him.”

The big question is why hard-left Politico ran this story.
Maybe, they were just prescient…
