WaPo Poll: Trump is a horrible person, a worse president, and everybody thinks so…

Well, actually, there’s somebody who is worse..

The Washington Post just reported a poll that is, charitably speaking, unfavorable for President Trump.

According to the Post’s analysis:

Trump has reached the 100-day marker in his presidency faring worse to much worse than other recent presidents.

Specifically: Trump’s approval rating stands at 42%, the lowest recorded at this stage of a presidency dating to Dwight Eisenhower.

In comparison, President Obama’s approval was 69% at this point in his Presidency.

But, to the obvious shock & dismay of the WaPo’s reporters, there doesn’t seem to be much indication of buyer’s remorse.

First, there certainly isn’t buyer’s remorse among folks who voted for Trump.

96% still think that supporting Trump was the right thing to do.

Only 2% regret supporting Trump.

That’s probably to be expected, right?

The shockers are literally buried in the data tables or last couple of paragraphs of the long analysis:

While just 4 percent of Trump’s supporters say they would back someone else if there was a redo of the election, fully 15 percent of Clinton supporters say they would ditch her.

Despite the public’s skepticism of Trump’s first 100 days, the survey finds little evidence voters would render a different verdict from last November, when Trump won key states needed to secure victory in the electoral college despite Clinton winning more votes nationwide.

The new survey finds 46% saying they voted for Clinton and 43% for Trump, similar to her two-point national vote margin.

Asked how they would vote if the election were held today, 43 say they would support Trump and 40 percent say Clinton.

I guess that means that Trump isn’t really the worst person in the world …  he’s second.

Technical note:

Having learned nothing from the pre-election polling, the WaPo poll oversamples Democrats … 31% to 24% Republican.

I guess they just don’t learn.
